History

This is Chassis #1 - 4CB and was Don Edmunds prototype 4bar midget. It was built for Indianapolis 500 winner, Parnelli Jones, who campaigned it during the 1966 racing season. This combination won 70% of all races entered that year. Among Parnelli's wins during this inaugural season, this is the car in which Parnelli Jones won the famous "Turkey Night Grand Prix at Southern California's Ascot Park.

Parnelli occasionally campaigned the car later with other Indy 500 veterans and winners behind the wheel. The who's who of champions included Bobby Unser, Mario Andretti, Al Unser and George Snider.

This is possibly the most famous midget race car in the country during the mid to late 1960's. Based upon its success, Don Edmunds built literally hundreds of copies of this car and they were campaigned throughout the United States as well as in Australia and New Zealand.
